I preached on James 1 v 19 last week, and it was as challenging a message to deliver as it was to hear.
In the world we live in today it is difficult to live out James 1 v 19 all the time.
However we have the assurance that whatever we hear God saying we can do He will give us the means to do it!
God asks us to rejoice all the time and rejoice evermore, so He has given us joy as part of the fruit of the Spirit.
In a similar way Jesus asks us to love God and love our neighbours, so we have been given more than enough love in our spirit to do this.
So can we live out our relationships according to James 1 v 19?
I would say yes as this is what God expects from us!
If this is what God wants He will equip us accordingly.
As I said in my message last week, living out James 1 v 9 is actually living out loving one another and loving your neighbour.
And we have all the love we need in our born again spirit as part of the fruit of the Spirit.
We can work out this love by understanding the Word, by understanding how much God loves us.
God is love and loved us first, so if we can truly believe this we can work out the love in our spirit and love others.
By loving others we will live out James 1 v 19.
We cannot live out James 1 v 19 by trying to live like this; it has to come naturally as we are transformed through understanding how much God loves us.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your Word and thank you for the fruit of the spirit”.
James 1 v 19…..Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath
