So our time in India is over and I have been looking for a verse to ‘sum up’ our experience here, and I came up with Hebrews 13 v 16.
This is a verse that was on a large poster in one of the rooms in New Life Orphanage, a ministry we support and visited.
The verse was written from a different version than the Bible I use, and it seemed better.
One the wall it said, “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased”.
The sentiments from this verse are what I saw in the churches and fellowships we visited.
The sentiments in this verse are what we saw from every born again believer that we met.
And it is the generosity of believers and the sharing among brothers and sisters that I hope will stay with me forever.
It is also a way of life that I hope to bring back and share with my own fellowship and also live out myself.
The saints in India have shown me a way of living that is so very different from my own, and so very different from our culture of materialism in the West.
We can learn from them how to be Godly and content (1 Timothy 6 v 6).
We can learn how to live free from materialism (1 Timothy 6 v 7 and 8).
In this way we can learn how to live a life of peace, generosity and sharing.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for all that I have from you, thank you that I can learn to be content and Godly”.
Hebrews 13 v 16…..But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased
