One of the greatest testimonies to the truth and accuracy of the Christian faith is the action of the disciples of Jesus.
This is one of the things that really got me thinking about faith.
In a world without phones and the Internet, these men spread the word about Jesus throughout the known world.
They suffered for their faith, with only one of them dying of old age in his bed!
They were persecuted and killed for speaking the truth about Jesus.
Why would men behave like this?
The only reason I can see is that they had 100% faith in what Jesus did, and then wanted to tell the world.
They had this faith as they saw the risen Christ!
They had the assurance that Jesus had risen from the dead and nothing could stop them from spreading this truth.
Many of us might say that seeing the risen Christ would be amazing, but we are told we have something better.
We have the Word of God, the Scriptures.
We have a more sure word of prophecy is how Peter put it (2 Peter 1 v 19).
We have the Word of God that is much better than any experience, even seeing the risen Christ in the flesh.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your Word and thank you for the life changing truths found within”.
John 20 v 26…..And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you
