DIG for Friday the 27th of January…..healing is here because I am here….Luke 9 v 2

As most of you will know I listen to a lot of worship music and sometimes get the content for my DIGs from them.

This is true today!

One of my current favourites is “Healing is Here” by Deluge.

As I was listening to it this morning I believe that the Lord encouraged my by saying, “Vic, that is because you are there”.

As I thought of this I remembered a man that we prayed for in India who was healed of heart disease.

I also remembered a man healed of kidney stones when we were there.

As I write this I am now thinking about people healed of backache in my old place of work, and I can also picture people healed when I was involved in Healing Rooms.

Now this is not arrogance or pride but the Lord is reminding me that they were healed when I laid hands on them.

Now I am not brilliant or gifted and I do not have a healing ministry (I feel that I have a teaching ministry).

However I am a born again believer and the Word tells me that I can see healing in the name of Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

So it is true that healing is here because I am here!

And the same is true for you if you are a born again believer.

As His disciples Jesus has given you the authority to lay hands on the sick and see them healed (Luke 9 v 2)

Wherever we are (as born again believers) healing can be and should be there also, that is what the Word says.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that we have the power and authority to heal the sick wherever we are”.

Luke 9 v 2…..And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick

DIG for Thursday the 26th of January…..go on, talk to someone, listen to someone…..Hebrews 10 v 24 and 25

On my road into town this morning I stopped off to visit my wife, and then a couple of friends; I needed some signatures for a bank form I was completing.

I then went to the bank and was surprised to see the bank manager working at the counter, and I had a really nice chat to him as he worked through my transactions.

Next I went to my local bookshop to pick up a book I had ordered, and had a really nice chat about this book with the lad behind the counter.

Walking back to the car I could feel my spirits had been lifted, I was happier, it had been a good shopping trip.

I thought it was nice having spoken to my wife and friends and then the people serving me, and the Lord said that was why He had given me ears and a mouth.

That took me aback a little bit, but then I realised what He was getting at.

We have ears to hear and we have a mouth to speak, we are designed to listen and to talk, we are created for fellowship with other people.

This is true as a human being and of course is true as a believer as well.

We were not designed for a Christian life of solitude, we are meant to be in fellowship with others of faith.

We can build each other up and encourage each other in the faith if we meet together (Hebrews 10 v 24 and 25).

The writer of the Hebrews encourages believers to meet in fellowship and I encourage you to do the same today.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that we can meet as believers to encourage and edify one another”

Hebrews 10 v 24 and 25…..And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much more, as ye see the day approaching

DIG for Wednesday the 25th of January…..don’t worry, about a thing, cause every little thing’s gonna be alright…..Philippians 4 v 6

God can speak to us in many different ways if we are willing to listen for His voice.

He spoke to me today through my granddaughter and a Bob Marley song!

I was taking Lydia home from school (I have the pleasure of doing the “school run” a couple of times a week) and she was singing a song.

It didn’t take long before I recognised the song as Three Little Birds by Bob Marley; it was the line “don’t worry, about a thing, cause every little thing’s gonna be alright” was what I heard.

And God said, “I’m trying to tell you not to worry”.

You see I’d been concerned about a few things for most of the day and had allowed my focus to shift from Him towards worry.

Now I’m not saying God told Lydia to sing that song, but as she was singing it and my mind focussed on the words I was able to hear the Lord speaking to me through it.

The Word tells us to be careful for nothing, or in other words not to worry (Philippians 4 v 6).

Instead we are to be thankful and prayerful over issues in our life.

This is great advice, and sometimes it takes a child and a Bob Marley song to remind us!

Worry is a state of mind not for the believer, we are meant to live with trust and hope instead; this can only be done through listening for the Lord.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you are listening to our concerns and thank you that you are also replying with answers”.

Philippians 4 v 6…..Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God
