On my road into town this morning I stopped off to visit my wife, and then a couple of friends; I needed some signatures for a bank form I was completing.
I then went to the bank and was surprised to see the bank manager working at the counter, and I had a really nice chat to him as he worked through my transactions.
Next I went to my local bookshop to pick up a book I had ordered, and had a really nice chat about this book with the lad behind the counter.
Walking back to the car I could feel my spirits had been lifted, I was happier, it had been a good shopping trip.
I thought it was nice having spoken to my wife and friends and then the people serving me, and the Lord said that was why He had given me ears and a mouth.
That took me aback a little bit, but then I realised what He was getting at.
We have ears to hear and we have a mouth to speak, we are designed to listen and to talk, we are created for fellowship with other people.
This is true as a human being and of course is true as a believer as well.
We were not designed for a Christian life of solitude, we are meant to be in fellowship with others of faith.
We can build each other up and encourage each other in the faith if we meet together (Hebrews 10 v 24 and 25).
The writer of the Hebrews encourages believers to meet in fellowship and I encourage you to do the same today.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that we can meet as believers to encourage and edify one another”
Hebrews 10 v 24 and 25…..And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much more, as ye see the day approaching
