God can speak to us in many different ways if we are willing to listen for His voice.
He spoke to me today through my granddaughter and a Bob Marley song!
I was taking Lydia home from school (I have the pleasure of doing the “school run” a couple of times a week) and she was singing a song.
It didn’t take long before I recognised the song as Three Little Birds by Bob Marley; it was the line “don’t worry, about a thing, cause every little thing’s gonna be alright” was what I heard.
And God said, “I’m trying to tell you not to worry”.
You see I’d been concerned about a few things for most of the day and had allowed my focus to shift from Him towards worry.
Now I’m not saying God told Lydia to sing that song, but as she was singing it and my mind focussed on the words I was able to hear the Lord speaking to me through it.
The Word tells us to be careful for nothing, or in other words not to worry (Philippians 4 v 6).
Instead we are to be thankful and prayerful over issues in our life.
This is great advice, and sometimes it takes a child and a Bob Marley song to remind us!
Worry is a state of mind not for the believer, we are meant to live with trust and hope instead; this can only be done through listening for the Lord.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you are listening to our concerns and thank you that you are also replying with answers”.
Philippians 4 v 6…..Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God
