DIG for Saturday the 28th of January……blown out of the water by one verse…..Ephesians 2 v 8

There are two doctrines that I cannot believe that my fellow Christians follow, Universalism and Predeterminism.

Both are banded about social media these days, but neither of these doctrines are Biblical.

Universalism says that because of what Jesus has done everyone has already been saved.

Predeterminism says that irrespective of what we think and say God has already chosen who will and will not be saved.

That of course is a really basic explanation of these two doctrines but I think it suffices.

Now, stop reading this DIG and read Ephesians 2 v 8 right now.

Can you see that this verse blows both Universalism and Predeterminism out of the water?

We are saved by grace through FAITH; we have to make a decision and believe in Jesus in order to be saved.

God does not decide, although He has decided that He wants everyone to be saved (Ephesians 1 v 4 and 5 and 2 Peter 3 v 9).

People must decide ‘in favour’ of Jesus and have faith for salvation, that is what the Word says.

Jesus is the only way to the Father but faith is required.

Do not be fooled by either of these dangerous doctrines, make a decision for yourself!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you have made a way for our salvation and thank you that the way is faith in Jesus”.

Ephesians 2 v 8…..For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God
