While preparing for the message today I was drawn to Psalm 78 v 41.
This is a very powerful verse, showing us that we can limit what God wants to do.
It shows how the thoughts, words and deeds of men can limit the plans of God.
Now, many would say that God is God and He can and will do whatever He wants, but that is just not Biblical.
2 Peter 3 v 9 shows us that God wants everyone to be saved, which is His will.
Yet in Matthew 7 v 13 and 14 we read that Jesus says many people will perish.
This shows us that God’s will does not necessarily come to pass.
He had a plan for mankind (and indeed for every single one of us) however we can use our free will and not move in that plan.
God wants everyone to come to repentance and be saved, but every man has to use his free will and choose that for himself.
Every man has been offered the free gift of salvation; that is the grace of God.
But every man must use faith and choose salvation.
We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2 v 8).
God wants all to be saved and has made the provision for that through the finished work of Jesus.
But God does not choose who is saved and who is lost, we do that for ourselves.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that through the finished work of Jesus you have provided for all men to be saved”.
Ephesians 2 v 8…..For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God
