We had some great teaching at the Bible School tonight; even though I’m not a student the material is still blessing me.
The lecturer was teaching on salvation and had used Ephesians 2 v 8, talking about how we are saved by grace through faith.
He gave a wonderful definition that I would like to share with you (so thanks and credit to Lawson Perdue for this).
He said, “Grace is what God did for us through the person of Jesus Christ, and faith is our positive response to it”.
I really like that definition!
Through the finished work of Jesus God has provided the possibility of salvation for every man.
Through the finished work of Jesus God has provided the means for every man to be made righteous.
This is a truth as because of the shed blood of Jesus every man has been reconciled and forgiven (Ephesians 1 v 7 and 2 Corinthians 5 v 18 and 19).
However every man must operate in faith and believe in Jesus and in His work.
Once a man believes and trusts he is saved.
It really is that simple!
God wants every man to be saved and has made provision for this, but each individual man (using his free will) needs to choose to trust Jesus.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you for the provision you have made for every man to be saved”.
Ephesians 2 v 8…..For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God
