I did a word search just now on my computer and from Romans to 1 Peter (inclusive) there are 76 instances of the phrase “in Christ”.
This makes me think that what we are “in Christ’ must be quite important, and indeed it is.
The phrases that use “in Christ” tell us about our true identity, who we are in Christ and what we have been made in Christ.
An understanding of these truths is essential for the born again believer.
We have been justified and redeemed in Christ (Romans 3 v 24).
There is no condemnation for us if we are in Christ (Romans 8 v 1).
We have been made wise, made righteous, sanctified and redeemed if we are in Christ (1 Corinthians 1 v 30).
There is only hope in this world if we are in Christ (1 Corinthians 15 v 19).
We have life if we are in Christ (1 Corinthians 15 v 22).
And the list goes on and on.
There are many truths about who we are and what we have been made as a gift of grace when we are in Christ.
But what do we have to do to be in Christ you may ask?
Simple, have faith in Jesus and His finished work.
Once you have been born again you are in Christ, and all the truths spoken about in Romans to 1 Peter belong to you!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you for the finished work of Jesus and thank you for the opportunity to be in Christ”.
