One of my favourite Psalms, and shortest, is Psalm 117.
There are some very simple truths in this delightful little Psalm.
Anyone and everyone should praise the Lord.
We should be thankful to Him and tell Him we are thankful.
And why should we do this?
Well, for the two reasons that we can see in these two verses.
He is kind and merciful and His truth lasts for ever.
This is such a simple message, you don’t need to look into the Hebrew and you don’t need to get a commentary or theologian to help you out.
The Lord is kind and merciful to all people.
The truths that the Lord says and the truths in His Word are eternal and will never end.
That is enough to be thankful don’t you think, that is enough to make us praise His name.
The Lord is a good God who wants the best for me and has provided His best through Jesus and that is why I am going to bring Him my praise this afternoon.
Are you going to praise Him today?
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for all the truths in your Word and thank you for the finished work of Jesus”.
