Nunsy (my wife) preached recently from Colossians 2, reminding us that we were initially saved and then continually saved by grace through faith.
This is a very important verse when we consider how we “walk the walk” of the Christian faith.
We have a Christian “faith” not a Christian “work”.
We all know that we could not work our way into our initial salvation; we came to Christ through faith.
Yet, many of us in the body feel that we have to work for our on going salvation i.e. healing, peace, joy and prosperity for example.
These many great things that we receive from Jesus are also part of our salvation (just look up the Greek meaning for salvation if you do not believe me).
Colossians 2 v 6 tells us how we receive our on going salvation, or healing and prosperity among other things.
We receive these in the same way as we first received Christ Jesus our Lord.
According to Ephesians 2 v 8 we were saved as a gift of grace through faith.
So we also receive healing and prosperity (and all the other wonderful gifts of salvation) as a gift of grace through faith.
As there were no works required for your initial salvation there are no works required for you to be healed, to be made prosperous or to live in peace and joy.
Jesus provided all these things for you as a gift of grace and you make them manifest in your life through faith.
Yes, it is that simple; that is what the Word says!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you that I can receive all the aspects of my salvation as a gift of grace through faith”.
Colossians 2 v 6…..As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him
