I had the privilege recently of meeting a very dear brother in the Lord during a course I was teaching.
He was working in ministry, as I am, but still involved in the business world like myself.
We got on really well, however we had very different doctrine which gave us a completely different outlook on things.
During our time together he told me that in order to go into ministry with the organisation he now works for he had to take a vow of poverty.
This is something I completely disagree with (you will know this if have read my DIGs recently).
Poverty is a curse from the enemy; we can see this if we read Deuteronomy.
Poverty is a result of the devil coming to steal, kill and destroy what we already have (John 10 v 10).
Poverty is not from God and is not a lifestyle that we as born again believers should aspire to.
Poverty for the believer has no grounds in the Word (unless you count Colossians 2 v 8).
We see in John 10 v 10 the kind of life the Lord wants us to live.
Now, what part of poverty fits in with an abundant life?
What part of poverty allows us to give unto every good work?
What part of poverty allows us to sow extensively into the Kingdom?
Poverty is the work of the devil and a tradition of man that has worked its way into the body of Christ and is a lie that we need to remove!
Don’t believe the lie that says you should be poor if you are a believer, believe the Word instead that says you should be living in abundance and prosperity.
Speak this out today….”Thank you Lord that Jesus came so that I could live a life of abundance”.
John 10 v 10…..The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly
