One of the times that I feel closest to the Lord when I am out in His creation, watching birds or animals and enjoying the scenery.
There is something about His creation that shouts out to me that there is a God.
I cannot explain the diversity and beauty that I se around me other than there being a loving and creative God “out there” who has designed this amazing world.
I’ve been on a short holiday recently and been fortunate to see (among other things) golden eagles, golden plover and ospreys.
But all this was topped yesterday when I saw a pod of orcas (killer whales) feeding just off the shore.
It was, I think, one of the most exciting sights I have ever seen in my life.
It was also a sight that reminded me of the majesty and the creativity of my God.
These creatures were just awesome, wonderful to see in their natural environment; it was a truly jaw dropping sight.
All this played out in an area of outstanding beauty; the land rose sharply from the sea to exciting mountains, with yellow gorse shining on the lower slopes.
But this wonderful creation pales into insignificance when we think of the majesty and beauty of the Living God.
As magnificent as creation is, this is not to be worshipped; it is the Living God who deserves our worship.
We can see the Living God in creation, see how marvellous and awesome He is.
Have a look out of your window today; you may not see orcas or golden eagles but you will see a wonderful world, a world made by a God deserving of your worship.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your wonderful creation and thank you that you created me”.
Genesis 1 v 21…..And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that is was good
