We all have verses or passages in the Bible that we think we know really well.
We all have our favourite passages that mean a lot to us.
I was reminded of one of my favourite passages in Scripture the other night at the Bible school and have been prompted to study this again.
It is a good idea to study verses that we think we know, as we can never know everything there is to understand about Scripture.
The Word is alive and vibrant and can bring us new revelation every time we read it, especially if we “tune in” to the Holy Spirit at the same time.
So I have decided to look once again at the passage that includes the verse that truly changed my life.
Once I realised that I was righteous my life changed.
An understanding of our righteous ness is one of the fundamental truths that we build our life upon.
We are made righteous as a gift of grace through faith, not through any works of our own.
We can be made righteous because of the finished work of Jesus.
We have the possibility of righteousness due to our forgiveness and reconciliation because of the shed blood of Jesus.
This passage will tell us what happened to us, what occurred so that we could be made righteous.
I hope you are as excited about the upcoming DIGs as I am!
So come with me on a journey as we study out 2 Corinthians 5 v 17 to 21.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I have been made righteous as a gift of grace through faith in the finished wok of Jesus”.
2 Corinthians 5 v 21…..For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him
