DIG for Thursday the 1st of June…..personalise it and speak it out…..Psalm 91 v 10

I was given a gift recently of a book providing teaching on Psalm 91, and I’d like to share some insights I have received as this is having a big impact on me.

I’ve known for a long time how important it is to speak good things over my life, after all death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18 v 21).

This teaching is highlighting to me that this is of huge importance.

What we think and what we say can alter the physical world around us!

I have also realised for a while how important it is to personalise Scripture and speak that out over my life.

For example we can speak out, “Thank you lord that I have been made righteous and now I have your righteousness”.

We can speak out, “Thank you Lord that I have been forgiven of all my sins” and, “Thank you Lord that you will never leave me nor forsake me”.

What I am now learning to do is personalise and then speak out Psalm 91 over my life, and I hope to share this with you in the coming days.

This is a passage that talks to me of protection and security that can only be provided by the Lord.

We all know the type of world we no live in, but even in these evil times we can rest in His love and His mercy.

This is a piece of Scripture that we can “take hold of” and speak out at all times, not just in times of trouble.

There is one verse in this passage that I am very familiar with, as it is one of the favourite sayings of my wife.

“No plague shall come nigh my dwelling” is one of Nunsy’s catchphrases, and she is very rarely sick (Psalm 91 v 10).

And there are lots of others we can personalise and then use for our protection and security.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that death and life are in the power of my tongue, thank you that I can choose to speak out life”.

Psalm 91 v 10…..There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling
