DIG for Wednesday the 14th of June…..ministry is not your primary purpose…..Romans 8 v 29

In the Bible School last night we listened to an amazing teaching about how to be excellent in ministry.

This was the fourth time I had listened to this teaching, yet it still sounded fresh and exciting!

The teacher was telling us that even if we had a ministry our primary purpose were to be more like Jesus.

This was what we should focus on, in order to fulfil our own ministry.

Romans 8 v 28 says we are called for a purpose and that purpose is stated in verse 29; that we are to be conformed to the image of Christ.

So, yes, our primary purpose as a believer is to be more like Jesus.

Our primary purpose is to show Jesus to a needy world and to people who are lost.

Of course, if we are called into a ministry our aim should be to fulfil that ministry.

However if we do not become more Christ like we will never fulfil our ministry.

As we become more like Christ we will move into our ministry.

And this begs the question, how do we become more Christ like.

Well, I’ve mentioned that often in my DIGs; we need to get into the Word and learn about Jesus.

As we understand more about Jesus from his Word, we will manifest His character more; it is as simple as that!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I can become more Christ like through understanding your Word”.

Romans 8 v 29…..For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren
