DIG for Wednesday the 9th of August…..He provided a way, but we have to act in trust…..Exodus 14 v 21 and 22

The Lord parting the Red Sea and making a way of escape for the nation of Israel is a picture of our salvation.

If the people had not walked onto the dry seabed between the towering walls of water they would have been lost; the Egyptian armies would have caught them and slaughtered them.

But I was just thinking that it would have taken a huge amount of trust to walk between the high walls of water.

What if the waters crashed upon them?

What if the water came back?

The people had to trust the way that the Lord had provided and had to make the choice to move into it.

The same is true for salvation.

The Lord, through the finished work of Jesus Christ, has provided reconciliation and forgiveness, both prerequisites required for salvation.

We have to choose to trust in Jesus and His finished work to benefit from this provision.

We have to trust Him and then choose to ‘move into’ Jesus.

Unless we do that we will be lost, even though the way to salvation has been provided for all.

Trust was required to walk across the Red Sea and trust is required to start your walk with Jesus.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you have provided all that is required for my salvation through the finished work of Jesus Christ”.

Exodus 14 v 21 and 22…..And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left

DIG for Tuesday the 8th of August…..He calmed the storm, He didn’t help them through it…..Luke 8 v 24

While in worship today I saw a vision of the disciples in the boat during the storm; I felt as if I was in there with them.

Jesus had told the disciples to go to the other side, yet the disciples were in real fear during the storm.

As I watched this ‘video’ in my head I heard Jesus speaking to me through the vision.

He told me that He had told us (He was including me in with the disciples) to do something.

He told me that He did not send the storm.

He told me that He did not want to accompany us through the storm; He said He had given us authority to calm the storm.

This goes against so much of what we hear in some sections of the church, that the Lord will send storms into our lives and that Jesus will be with us as we go through these storms.

Now, we can learn as we go through storms and yes Jesus will stay with us, however when we see Jesus in a storm He calmed it; and He is telling us today that we can calm them as well.

He has given us authority over this physical world, and He has given us the Holy Spirit for power.

Power and authority are ours!

Jesus is telling us to start yielding this power and authority against the storms in our lives.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that we have the power of the Holy Spirit and authority from Jesus to calm the storms in our lives”.

Luke 8 v 24…..And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm
