For a number of reasons this week the Bible School students assembled round my kitchen table for their studies.
We spent so much time discussing the first lesson that we only had time for one of the other two.
This was not a problem as we had a great time discussing the Word and doctrines expounded in the first lesson.
We did not agree about everything but I think we all enjoyed our time together.
And, to follow on from my DIG yesterday, we were ‘doing church’.
Church is not about a building but all about people, and we can ‘do church’ anywhere.
But this highlighted a powerful truth about church; it has to be done with other people.
You cannot ‘do church’ on your own.
Christians are not meant to be on their walk with the Lord on their own, all the Scriptures point to this being a group activity.
Hebrews 10 v 24 tells us consider one another.
Hebrews 10 v 25 talks of us assembling ourselves together; together means we have to interact with other people.
Now, you may not interact with others in a church building, but you must involve others in your Christian walk.
Yes, Jesus went off on His own at times and we need to as well, but the vast majority of His ministry involved other people.
Do you think we should be any different?
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the church and thank you for my brothers and sisters in the Lord”.
Hebrews 10 v 25…..Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching
