I heard a preacher say the most amazing thing last night that really got me thinking.
He said, “I you are under grace you will not feel condemnation; if you feel condemned you are trying to live under law”.
This really stopped me in my tracks, but I thought that he was absolutely correct.
If we feel condemnation we must be interested in our own performance, in what we have done or not done.
Under grace our performance is not important, it is the finished work of Jesus that is the vital ‘thing’.
So in that sense if we feel condemned we must be putting ourselves under law in that area.
The performance of Jesus was absolutely perfect and could never be condemned by anyone.
So if we are living under grace, and know grace, we can indeed never feel condemned.
The Word says there is no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus; that means those living under grace and trusting in His finished work.
Condemnation can only come in we are interested in our own self-efforts or things we have failed at or not done.
This is called living under law.
We are no longer under law but under grace so condemnation should be a thing of the past (Romans 6 v 14 and 15).
If you ever feel condemnation you need to find out what area of your life you are putting under law, and then move on into grace!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I now live under grace and not under law”.
Romans 8 v 1…..There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit
