One of the people that I empathise most with in Scripture is the father of the boy with the dumb spirit (Mark 9 v 17 to 29).
The father could be said to have less of an expression of faith than the other people we have looked at recently, but for me he certainly is one of the most honest men in the Word.
He is a believer in Jesus; he calls Him Lord (Mark 9 v 24).
But he knows that his faith is not operating at the level he requires, and knows he is full of unbelief.
He is honest with Jesus and admits he has doubts and fears, all caused by his unbelief.
Jesus even meets this man at his level of faith and at his need.
The compassion, love and mercy of Jesus have no bounds, even reaching a man who has levels of unbelief.
This is true for us.
We can have doubts and fears and we can have unbelief, yet Jesus will still meet us at our level of faith and minister to our needs.
Jesus does not demand 0% unbelief before He will help us and minister to us.
He knows our hearts and knows at what level so faith and unbelief we are operate from, and He still loves us!
Take heart today even if you know you have unbelief in your life; take heart and know that Jesus loves you and wants to minister to you.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus Christ, and thank you for His love, His compassion and His mercy”.
Mark 9 v 24…..And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief
