DIG for Thursday the 28th of September…..inherited not delegated…..Matthew 10 v 1

As I sit here writing my DIG I am looking at a number of items I have plugged in receiving power.

On my desk recharging at the moment I have my phone, I-pad and toothbrush; none of which will work correctly and efficiently without power.

The same is true of you and I.

As a born again believer we require power in order to do what the Lord asks us to do; we cannot do this in our own strength.

But the good news is that we do have this power already, we just need to realise this truth and then use the power.

In the Word Jesus delegated power and authority to His disciples.

Under the New Covenant we no longer have delegated power and authority, we have inherited power and authority.

As born again believers we have the indwelling Living God, and this is power is “enhanced” if we have been baptised in the Holy Spirit.

As well as this power we have the authority as sons of God and co-heirs with Christ.

We already have all the power we need and we also have the authority that allows us to exercise this power.

We do not need to be recharged like my electronic tools, we are fully charged with an energy that will never run out.

Yes, we need to rest in a physical sense and “recharge” in that way, but we are no longer required to ask the Lord for more power; we have all the power we will ever need to allow us to do anything!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the power and authority that I already have as a born again believer living under the New Covenant”.

Matthew 10 v 1…..And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sicknesses and all manner of disease

DIG for Saturday the 22nd of November…..grace builds you up and provides an inheritance…..Acts 20 v 32

Paul commended, (placed near or placed with someone), the message of grace to the Ephesians when he was there in person.

He gives us a great lesson here in what the message of grace, the gospel of Jesus Christ, can provide for the believer.

We know he is talking to believers here (and therefore us) as he says brethren at the start of the verse and calls them holy and saints (sanctified) at the end; so this verse is for you if you are born again.

Grace will build you up.

The gospel of Jesus Christ, the truth about our reconciliation, forgiveness and righteousness, will encourage us and build us up as we learn more about it.

Knowledge of what Jesus has done will mean we put less emphasis on what we do and what other men do, thus leading to less worry and fear.

Grace will provide you with an inheritance.

As a saint, trusting in Jesus and his finished work, you have been freely given a great inheritance.

You have been accepted by God and adopted into His family (Ephesians 1 v 5 and 6) and been given all spiritual gifts in heavenly places (Ephesians 1 v 3).

As a child of God, because of this free inheritance, you have been made a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8 v 16 and 17).

Grace is a free gift from God, designed to build you up with encouragement and to provide you with an awesome inheritance that you can enjoy RIGHT NOW!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that through Jesus you have accepted me and adopted me into your family”.

Acts 20 v 32…..And now, brethren, I commend God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified

DIG for Thursday the 10th of July…..not a servant and not only a son, but also an heir of God…..Galatians 4 v 7

My friends, if you are a born again believer today, it you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then you are an heir of God.

Paul goes even further in his letter to the Romans telling us that we are joint-heirs with Christ if we are children of God (Romans 8 v 17).

Do you know what that means?

It means that you are entitled to everything that God has as His heir; He is your Father and you are entitled to what is His.

You have an inheritance from God that includes all His riches (Ephesians 1 v 11).

And the good news is that you are entitled to that inheritance now because of the finished work of Jesus Christ.

You are not entitled because of your good works, your self-righteousness, your prayers or tithes or church attendance; you are entitled because you are in Christ.

You may be thinking but I am not worthy enough to be called a joint-heir with Christ and that would be true, however Jesus is worthy enough and you receive because of His worthiness.

No one would argue that Jesus would not be worthy to receive an inheritance from the Father.

You my friend are in Christ and trust Christ so you are now deemed worthy because of that and you can receive all the riches from His glory NOW.

You have been adopted, you have been accepted and you have been given all spiritual blessings already because of your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Your job is to believe on Him whom He hath sent; that is Jesus Christ.

Your job is to believe and receive, that is what Father God wants for you.

He wants you to live in and enjoy your inheritance NOW; He wants you to live that abundant life that Jesus came to provide for you (John 10 v 10).

He wants you in health and prosperity; that is why you were adopted and made heirs (3 John 2).

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that through the finished work of Jesus Christ I have been made a joint-heir with Him and can receive my inheritance from you right now”.

Galatians 4 v 7…..Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ
