Jesus could only do the work of His Father; this is made clear in Scripture, especially the Gospel of John.
His finished work was the work of God; He was sent by God the Father, yet was God in His own right at the same time.
God’s work should not be added to and should not have anything removed (Ecclesiastes 3 v 14).
Yet we try to add to the work of Jesus by our own self-effort and self-righteous acts in doing good works, then begging and pleading for forgiveness in the error of thinking that this is confession and repentance.
We also try and remove some of the work of Jesus by saying that healing and prosperity (for example) are not for today and that this died out with the apostles.
The finished work of Jesus Christ was complete and perfect and the express will of God the Father.
Nothing needs to be added to the work of Jesus.
The finished work of Jesus Christ provided us with all spiritual blessings, all things pertaining to life and Godliness and all required for health and abundance.
Nothing should be taken away from the work of Jesus.
What Jesus did for us was perfect and we should receive all He has for us freely, without any effort from ourselves.
Nothing added, nothing taken away, just grace, just the gospel of Jesus Christ.
