DIG for Thursday the 30th of November…..we are all saints…..Ephesians 4 v 24

November the 30th is a relatively important day here in Scotland; it is St Andrew’s Day, the day we remember our patron saint.

I’m not sure of what makes a person a saint in the eyes of others or in the broader church but I think it is probably quite different to the Biblical definition.

The Bible is quite clear, in that everyone who is born again is a saint.

Being a saint is nothing to do with what you do, and all to do with what you believe.

When we are born again our spirit man (the real part of us) is created new (2 Corinthians 5 v 17).

This new spirit man is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4 v 24)

Holiness, in this context, is just another word for saint, so when you were born again God made you a saint.

You do not need to perform saintly actions to become a saint, and you are not made a saint through the opinions of men.

God and not men create true saints.

Are you a believer in Jesus and His finished work this evening?

If you said yes, then you are a saint!

Now if you truly believe this and understand this truth the good news is that you will start to behave in a saintly manner.

You see, good deeds and saintly actions come as a fruit of holiness; holiness is not a result of your saintly actions.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I am a saint”.

Ephesians 4 v 24…..And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness
