REM was one of my favourite bands as a young man and I had a bit of a walk down memory lane today as myself and a mate drove through to Aberdeen.
I’ve always loved this song and sing it often (just ask my wife).
But one line caught my attention today, “every waking hour, I’m choosing my confessions”.
This is an amazing line that should be what every New Covenant believer is actually doing.
To confess (under grace) means to agree, to acknowledge or to covenant.
It means to agree with what God says; it does not mean to drag up your sin as so many of us have been taught.
So what are you confessing today?
Are you confessing that you are healed and prosperous?
Are you confessing that you are at peace and living in joy?
Are you confessing the truths about the finished work of Jesus?
Are you confessing your salvation?
I hope and pray that you are and are having nothing to do with “confessing” any sin!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I live under grace and now have only good things to confess”.
Romans 10 v 9…..That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved
