We are encouraged many times in the Psalms, and in the Word in general to praise the Lord.
This is of course a good recommendation, but have you ever thought, “Why should we?”
Psalm 117 is a wonderful wee Psalm that tells us why we should praise the Lord.
He is full of mercy toward us.
He is full of kindness toward us.
The truth about Him will endure forever.
There we have three cracking reason why we should praise the Lord!
Of course He is good, He is full of mercy and kindness and He is truth.
This Psalm also tells us who should be praising the Lord.
It says every nation and every people, i.e. everyone.
So this is really simple; the Lord is so kind and merciful and full of truth that everyone should praise him.
Everyone will bow the knee eventually to the Lord, I think it would be better to accept His kindness and mercy now and go on to praise Him while here on earth.
So come on, let’s praise Him this evening, you know we should and we have multiple reasons to do so!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you are kind and merciful, and thank you that you only speak the truth”.
