DIG for Friday the 16th of June…..these requests have been met under the New Covenant…..Psalm 25 v 1 and 2

In church this morning I opened the service with a reading from the start of Psalm 25.

The Psalms were of course written pre-cross, written under the Old Covenant, quite often talking about what we would receive under the New Covenant.

In this Psalm for example the Psalmist requests that we not be ashamed (Psalm 25 v 2).

He also asked that his enemies would not triumph.

We now live under the New Covenant, where the requests of the Psalmist have been answered.

We have many enemies in this world, coming from our archenemy Satan and his demons.

The good news is that through the finished work of Jesus Christ we as born again believers have authority over the enemy and his works.

Sickness is our enemy and has been defeated by Jesus.

Poverty is our enemy and has been defeated by Jesus.

Depression is our enemy and has been defeated by Jesus.

Rejection is our enemy and has been defeated by Jesus.

The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy what the Lord has provided for us and comes as our enemy.

We now live in an era that the Psalmist looked forward to; to a time when his enemies would be defeated.

Our enemies of sickness, poverty and rejection (among others) have already been defeated.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you have provided all I need with regards to healing and prosperity through the finished work of Jesus Christ”.

Psalm 25 v 1 and 2…..Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let not mine enemies triumph over me
